D4 covers southeast Colorado Springs — a diverse, military-connected district that includes much of the city’s most affordable housing stock.
Cimarron Hills — An unincorporated enclave surrounded by the city. A mix of older single-family homes and apartments, with a working-class character and strong community identity.
Stratton Meadows — A residential area in the southeast with mid-century homes and proximity to Memorial Park. Steady but modest — the kind of neighborhood where city services matter most.
Fountain Valley & Fort Carson corridor — D4 extends south toward Fort Carson, the Army’s largest installation in the region (~25,000 soldiers). Military families and defense-related businesses are a major demographic. Housing affordability and base-access infrastructure are key concerns.

Background
President of the Colorado Springs Black Chamber of Commerce. Gold won the D4 seat in a three-way race in April 2025. She brings a small-business and community-development perspective to the council. She is the council’s most active legislator by motion count — she moved most of the consent calendar items on June 9.
Key issues for District 4
Housing affordability — D4 has some of the city’s most affordable housing, serving military families and lower-income residents. Zoning changes and development pressure affect housing supply.
